Korba West Power Co to set up 2×300 MW Coal based Thermal Power Plant at Village Bade Bhandar

Korba West Power Co (a subsidiary of Avantha Power & Infrastructure) is planning to set up 2×300 MW Coal based Thermal Power Plant at Village Bade Bhandar in Korba district of Chhattisgarh. The land requirement is 240 ha. The coal requirement is 10,150 TPD, which will be obtained from SECL mine and transported through rail. Water requirement is estimated at 2300 m3/hr and will be met from river Mahanadi. Closed circuit cooling will be provided to save water. As of January 2018, the project is in planning stage and is in the process of getting statutory clearances.
