NMDC Ltd is planning to set up a 250 MW coal based power project in Jagdalpur Tehsil in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh. The project will required 315 acres of land and has identified 3 sites viz. Madpel and Markel villages or Tanuguda, Paruguda and Malagaon villages or Mundapal and Ghatkawali villages in Jagdalpur district. The power plant will require 1.31 mtpa of coal and water requirement is likely to be met from Indravati and Sabri rivers. Coal Linkage is expected to be obtained from SECL (Application has already been made in 2012 for the project.
