Karnataka Power Corp plans 1600 coal based thermal project in Godhna

Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd is setting up a 1600 MW (2 x 800 MW) coal based thermal power project in phases in Godhna village in Jangir Champa district of Chhattisgarh. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 90,000 million. The company is awaiting for the environmental clearance and the works will start soon after getting the environmental clearance. The KPCL has deposited Rs.160 crore with the Chhattisgarh government towards land acquisition. The company has already signed an agreement with Larsen & Toubro for implementing the project.
